Mario Messina-Azekri was born in Argentina. He lived in Mexico for four years where he attended Junior and High School. He was part of the Red Cross Mountain Rescue Team.
In 1973, he came to United States and finished his high school education and graduated as Salutatorian of his class from Hollywood High School where he received many awards for scholastic and sports achievements. He also completed 350 hours of Hospital Occupations Program achieving a Nurse's Aide Degree.
From 1975 to 1979, he attended Linfield College, Oregon where major in Pre-Medicine and Spanish Literature. He published Spanish poetry as well as thesis on past-lives regression through hypnosis.
He worked with the Migrant Education Program in Yamhill County, Oregon as Home-School Consultant and tutor for migrant children. He helped the children with their school work as well as arranging medical care for some of them. He translated into Spanish math programs and worker's manuals.
In 1981, he obtained his Black Belt in Judo and in 2007, he got his Black Belt in Tai-Chi. He also studied Kendo, Iaido, Karate, Kung-Fu and Kempo.
In 1982, he was hired by the Oregon Board of Parole and later by the Oregon Department of Corrections as a Parole Investigator and later as a release counselor. He did criminal investigations on inmates facing parole hearings and prepare inmates for their release into the community. In 2000, he became a proud US Citizen. He retired in 2006 after 25 years of service.
For more than 22 years, Mario has coached soccer at all levels. He has held the USSF "A" license (Professional Coach). He was one the Oregon Youth Soccer Association staff coaches and taught soccer clinics to coaches and players across the state. As a coach and Martial arts instructor, he performed bodywork on his athletes and students to improve their performance and heal injuries.
He also completed a year at the American College of Naturopathic Medicine in Salem, Oregon in 1981. In 1995, he attended the Oregon Massage School where he graduated 9 months later as a License Massage Therapist. Since then, he has studied many bodywork modalities in order to help his clients to the best of his abilities.
He participated in a research study conducted by Kaiser Permanente on temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ) in 2001 using massage as the modality to treat this particular disorder.
In 2009, he became certified in Bowenwork Practitioner and continues to study this gentle and effective bodywork modality.
